Lessons and Workshops
All pottery lessons and workshops take place at my studio in the Camden Fireworks building located at 1813 S Broadway Camden, NJ.
No experience is required just willingness to try something new. I will lead you through the pottery process of throwing or hand-building and you will have a finished piece that you can use in a few weeks after it's fired in the kiln here.
Private Pottery Lesson
Interested in trying throwing on the pottery wheel or want to further your skills? Here is your chance.
Throwing on the pottery wheel can be a little tricky at first so set your expectations to having fun and trying something new instead of creating your next masterpiece. Throwing on the wheel works best for humans who are 7 years old and older, but no experience is necessary.
I can accommodate up to 4 people at a time for lessons and the cost is $40 per person and all materials are included. Lessons are 1 ½ hours long and pottery will be ready for pick up in about 3 weeks.
Lessons can be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays at 10am or 1pm or on Fridays at 7:30pm, Please email me at Hope.Mead08@gmail.com to schedule. Gift Certificates are available.
Girl Scout Pottery Badge
Complete all your requirements for the girl scout pottery badge. Scouts will tour the gallery and studio then I’ll give them a quick summary of what it means to be a full time potter. Students will make and glaze their own piece of handbuilt pottery. The cost of the workshop is $150 plus $5 per person for materials and I can accommodate up to 10 students. Workshop takes about 1 ½ hours, and pieces will be fired and ready for pick up in about 3 weeks. Please email me at Hope.Mead08@gmail.com to schedule.
Handbuilding Workshop
Great for a team building work event or group of friends wanting to try something creative together. During the workshop your group will be given an intro to working with clay and I’ll give a demo on how to make whichever project you’ve chosen, mugs, planters, vases and treasure boxes are a few of the favorites. I can accommodate up to 10 people at a time for hand building workshops and handbuilding is appropriate for all ages. The cost is $35 per person and all materials are included. Workshops are about 2 hours long and pottery will be ready for pick up in about 3 weeks. Please email me at Hope.Mead08@gmail.com to schedule.
Shibori Workshop
Great for a team building work event, a group of friends wanting to try something creative together or a baby shower activity. During the workshop your group will be given an intro to indigo dying and I’ll give a demo on how to tie and dip the fabric. I can accommodate up to 10 people at a time for Shibori workshops and Shibori is appropriate for ages 8 and up. The cost is $30 per person, I will provide tea towels to dye but you can also bring your own cotton T-Shirt or baby onesie or anything white and 100% cotton.. Workshops are about 1 ½ hours long and dyed items can be taken home but will need to be washed at home. Please email me at Hope.Mead08@gmail.com to schedule.
